LEGAL CHARTER
Privacy Policy
Last updated August 26, 2026. This policy explains the operational data practices for the BlackTide website, launcher, account service, and game.
Information we collect
We collect account, support, device, security, and gameplay information needed to operate BlackTide. When you choose Google or Discord sign-in, we receive the provider account identifier, display name, and verified email address made available by that provider. We do not receive or store your provider password.
How information is used
Information is used to provide and secure accounts, prevent abuse, maintain game integrity, communicate essential service messages, and improve reliability. Optional newsletters and major update announcements are sent only after an explicit opt-in. BlackTide does not sell personal data or use account data to build advertising profiles.
Social sign-in
Provider access tokens are used only server-side to obtain the identity required for sign-in and are not retained. BlackTide stores the provider name and provider-specific account identifier so the same player account can be recognized on future visits.
Retention and security
We retain data only while needed for the purposes described or to meet legal and security obligations. Access is limited by role, credentials remain server-side, and security-sensitive tokens are stored as one-way hashes where applicable.
Email choices
Newsletter consent is optional, separate from the Terms, and unchecked by default. Existing accounts are not automatically enrolled. Newsletter delivery requires a verified account email. You can opt out at any time in Account Settings or through the secure unsubscribe link included with every optional newsletter. Essential account-security messages are not marketing.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion through the official support channel. See the account and data deletion instructions for the verification and removal process.
